Program 1
Etiquette: Making A Positive Impression To Gain A Competitive Advantage
The importance of cultural awareness in the global marketplace include first impressions, mixing and mingling, business introductions, body language, grammar faux pas, image tips, job interview skills, and table manners. Participants will be given current information to sharpen their skills to gain the competitive advantage in almost any interactive situation.
Program description
This program presents an overview of acceptable etiquette in the workplace and today’s society. It is a funfilled-far from stuffy-seminar. It covers cutting-edge etiquette, offering an opportunity to sharpen professional skills and gain the competitive edge.
The educational approach is to make participants aware of attention to detail, stressing that it can indeed make a difference. The major points are interpersonal skills, dress, major grammar gaffes, and social skills. Having lived with college students for over a decade, “Mom Nonnie” speaks from experience. It has been her observation that most college students today have never been taught formal etiquette, therefore they are unaware of these guidelines.
The program will benefit its intended audience by offering information which will boost self-confidence through techniques guaranteed to improve personal image. With these skills in hand, participants will be better prepared for job interviews, university functions, alumni banquets, parent introductions, social functions and romantic dates.
It is an interactive program when the students are taught to correctly introduce themselves to at least three other people, followed by conversation using proper eye contact and body language.
Handouts will be given to each participant for dining skills, job interview etiquette, and other quick tips for gaining the competitive edge.
Program 2
Ambassadors for Etiquette: A “Hands-On” Dining Etiquette Seminar And Dinner
This program entails and formal meal with professional servers. Nonnie will walk you through the entire dinner reviewing the universal language of dining. Other beneficial skills will be reviewed, such as shaking hands while holding a beverage and eating hors d’oeuvres.
Recommendations: Limit audience to 250. Allow two and one-half hours for the program.
Handouts for formal place settings and guest seatings will be given to each participant.
Program 3
What Women Really Want
This program goes beyond gender communication to focus on a broad spectrum of relationships. It is a program for both men and women – men because they truly want to understand “what women really want” and women because they want to make sure that the presenter gets it right!
Program description
The educational approach and major points are designed to have participants understand not only other people and the opposite sex, but also to understand themselves. It is a basic relationship class, but Nonnie zeros in precisely on two things that (most) women REALLY want and skills to fill their personal needs. She will outline the positive elements of a balanced relationship, along with the elements which are destructive.
Participants will leave with an understanding of the value of relationships at both personal and business levels, and the importance of fulfilling others’ needs. This includes the value of volunteerism, balancing personal needs, and the need for self-fulfillment as a basis for understanding human behavior. It’s an entertaining program that has participants laughing and learning at the same time.
Handouts include diagrams outlining the elements of a relationship, including explicit information about why (most) people act the way they do in life.
Handout G.I.R.L.S. outlines specifics.
Program 4
A Special Presentation for College Level Fraternity/Sorority Groups: Mom Nonnie Tells All
After twelve years as a fraternity Housemother and a college consultant/facilitator, Nonnie has learned quite a few valuable lessons about Greek life! This fun, motivating program encompasses all topics related to fraternities and sororities in today’s college society. From Greek image and responsibility, to etiquette and dining skills, to sex and dating, “Mom Nonnie” talks straight.
Program description
This program includes facts, stories, and humor. The major points are to teach lessons and simultaneously touch hearts. The objective is to inspire fraternity and sorority members to use their Greek involvement as a stepping stone to successful careers, relationships, and roles in today’s demanding world.
This program helps define direction in the auspicious opportunity called Greek membership. What’s it all about anyway? What is the objective in Greek life? Is it just a party or is there more to it? Why am I here and what have I done? Is it too late to get out of this commitment?
Handouts outline organizational teamwork and temperament charts for better understanding of personality traits.
No interaction. Just: Mom Nonnie tells all. Something to listen to and think about. Food for thought, so-to-speak.
